Thiruvananthapuram: The DYFI has demanded strict action against North Indian YouTuber Amrit Singh Darren for spreading hatred against Keralam.

The secular people of Keralam must isolate Amrit Singh Darren, who released a hate video claiming that “Fort Kochi is full of Muslims and Keralam is in danger", as well as those spreading the video to create religious hatred in society, DYFI said.

Action should also be taken against the Instagram page "littichokha_up_", which circulated the YouTuber’s hate video, and actor Diya Krishna, who posted a comment supporting it, the organisation said.

Communal forces have long been attempting to divide Keralam’s society along religious lines, despite people belonging to different faiths living together with love and tolerance, DYFI said.

Keralam, a stronghold of secularism, has always been a target of communal forces. Those engaging in such propaganda to divide the state along religious lines and set people against one another must be firmly confronted, and all attempts to divide Keralam’s society must be resisted and defeated, it added.

The DYFI state secretariat called for identifying those engaging in communal propaganda and those supporting it, and demanded strict legal action against those spreading propaganda that incites communal hatred.

Meanwhile, the police had registered a case against Darren on the charge of creating enmity between different religious communities by asking to isolate Muslims in Kochi through his Instagram handle, “littichokha_up_”.
