Thiruvananthapuram: The survivor in the rape case against Rahul Mamkoottathil has been subjected to targeted attacks on social media by Congress workers. She has filed a complaint with the Chief Minister against severe abuse and cyber harassment, specifically naming R Sreenadevi Kunjamma, a Congress leader and district panchayath member from Pathanamthitta.
According to the complaint, Sreenadevi Kunjamma has been insulting the survivor online, claiming that Rahul Mamkoottathil is innocent and that the survivor is spreading false stories. The survivor has demanded that an FIR be registered against Kunjamma, emphasising that it is inappropriate for an elected representative to act in this manner. The complaint further urges the Kerala Police to uphold trust in women who speak the truth and to take action against those posting content that exposes the survivor’s identity.
The Congress cyber wing has reportedly been running a campaign to tarnish the survivor’s image in order to protect Rahul Mamkoottathil, who is currently under investigation. While some leaders publicly claim that Congress will not shield him, they allegedly offer secret support, and party workers appear to actively safeguard him.
