Congress Will Accept RSS Votes If Offered, Says K Muraleedharan

Senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan has openly acknowledged Congress party's understanding with the RSS. He stated that the Congress would accept votes from anyone if offered, even from RSS. Speaking in a television interview ahead of the Assembly elections, Muraleedharan said the Congress would accept votes from anyone, regardless of their affiliation.

When asked whether the Welfare Party by Jamaat-e-Islami is communal, Muraleedharan chose not to respond. He noted that the SDPI had supported the Congress at the national level, but clarified that the UDF did not include the SDPI in its election campaign. He reiterated that Congress will accept vote from anyone whose name appears on the electoral roll.

Muraleedharan also rejected allegations by Rahul Mamkootathil, who had claimed that the party did not hear his side before expelling him following sexual harassment allegations against him. Muraleedharan said the Congress took the decision only after examining all aspects of the case and asserted that there is no need to review or reverse the expulsion.
