Kalpetta: Residents of Mundakkai and Chooralmala, who were severely affected by the landslides last year, have expressed support for the state government and the CPI(M). More than 30 families—most of them Congress and Muslim League workers—have decided to work alongside the CPI(M) in Chooralmala.

Among those who have chosen to cooperate with the party are Kalpetta Block Panchayat Standing Committee member and Congress leader Naseer Alaykkal and others. Their decision comes in protest against alleged fraud by UDF leaders, who reportedly collected money in the name of disaster relief but failed to provide the promised housing support, leaving affected families feeling cheated.
