Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated and dedicated the first phase of the CIAL Aeropark project to the country. The Aeropark, spread across 36 acres, comprises six projects with a total investment of ₹101 crore. Of these, three projects have been completed, while the remaining three will begin shortly, together forming the first phase.

The Aeropark aims to bring airport-associated industries, modern security training centres, and technical departments under one umbrella.

The most notable project is the CISL Business Centre, built at a cost of ₹30 crore and spread over 40,000 sq ft. A rare facility in India, the premium co-working space operates directly under an airport company and can accommodate around 400 professionals and nearly 30 companies, equipped with modern technologies.

The other completed projects include a Technical Service Facility, established at a cost of ₹13 crore to make CIAL technically self-sufficient, and India’s largest aviation breathing apparatus training gallery.

Projects that will be opened shortly include Kerala’s first hangar with covered aircraft parking facility (₹13 crore), an aviation pressure-fed firefighting technology centre (₹8 crore), and an underwater training technology facility (₹3 crore), all located within the CIAL Aeropark.

The function was attended by Minister for Industries P. Rajeev, MLAs Anwar Sadath and Roji M. John, Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak, and Lulu Group Chairman M. A. Yusuff Ali.
