Chief Minister: Announced Projects Are Not Just on Paper, But Have Become a Reality

Kollam: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the projects announced in the state were not confined to paper but have been made a reality. He pointed out that development has been ensured in all 140 constituencies, and its benefits are being reflected in the lives of the people. The Iravipuram-Pallimukku Road's Iravipuram Overbridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 32 crore, was dedicated to the public in a ceremony, in which he participated online.


A budget of Rs 244 crore has been allocated for the construction of six railway overbridges in the Iravipuram constituency. In addition to the completed Iravipuram overbridge, other overbridges are being built at Mayyanadu, Kollam SN College Junction, Kallumthazham, Kuttikada, and Polayathodu. So far, 12 railway overbridges have been completed in the state, and 24 more are under construction. The Iravipuram constituency has witnessed significant improvements in basic infrastructure development.


The Kollam Peeranki Ground now features the Olympic Champion Suresh Babu Indoor Stadium. Measures have also been taken for coastal protection in Iravipuram, with the construction of the Pulimuttu project underway. Rs 30 crore has been allocated for the construction of the Kachikadavu Bridge in Mundakkal. The establishment of the Sri Narayana Guru Open University is also underway in the Iravipuram constituency, for which Rs 45 crore has been allocated. The development of National Highway 66 and the coastal road will benefit the people of Iravipuram. Additionally, Rs 20 crore has been allocated for the development of the health sector in the constituency, the Chief Minister stated.
