Kasargod: CPI M state secretary M V Govindan has announced that there will be strong protests against the central budget, which has left Kerala completely disappointed. Speaking at a press conference, he stated that the central government, by continuing its policy of economically marginalising the state, has effectively declared war on Kerala through this budget.

Govindan pointed out that the budget contains nothing beneficial for Kerala. The state had requested 29 items, including AIIMS, but none were fulfilled, leaving Kerala entirely disheartened. Even E Sreedharan expressed disappointment with the budget.

Despite the announcement of three All India Institutes of Ayurveda to promote Ayurvedic treatment and research, Kerala, the heartland of Ayurveda, received nothing. While high-speed rail corridors were announced in seven locations, Kerala was excluded. Although a rare metal corridor was announced including Kerala, Govindan noted that the central government’s project is aimed primarily at the private sector.

He added that the LDF government’s development initiatives will be communicated to the public through rallies. The northern region development march, led by M V Govindan, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
