Kochi: The bodies of two Malayali women who were killed in California, US, will arrive at Kochi International Airport on the morning of September 21. The bodies of Anjana Hari (35), from Thekkoot, Mudikkode, Thrissur, and Ann Mary Mathew (40), from Kakkanad Lane, Kesavadasapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, are expected to reach Nedumbassery around 8 am. The incident took place on August 28. Anila, a native of Moonnilavu in Kottayam and a friend of the two women, was behind the killings. Anila killed Anjana by hitting her with a car and killed Ann by stabbing her. Ann and Anjana, as well as Anila, who was arrested in connection with the case, had previously lived in neighbouring apartments in Milpitas, California. The three were close friends and had actively participated in Onam celebrations and shared photographs from the events on social media. The bodies are being brought back to their hometowns after the completion of post-mortem examinations, embalming and immigration procedures by the foreign affairs authorities. Anjana's body will be taken from the airport to her residence in Thrissur. Ann Mary's body will be taken to the residence of her husband Jacob (Mithun) in Kurichy. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at Pallom St Ignatius Jacobite Church, the parish of Mithun. Ann Mary is survived by her children, Andreena (10) and Aleesa (5).
