BJP Reportedly Unhappy With V V Rajesh Over R Sreelekha’s Resignation Announcement

Thiruvananthapuram: There is criticism within the BJP that Mayor V V Rajesh did not inform the party leadership about councillor R Srelekha submitting resignation letter to resign from her post.
Srelekha submitted her resignation letter on September 30. However, as no action was taken and the party leadership was not informed, she disclosed the matter through the councillors' WhatsApp group. The state leadership is reportedly unhappy with Rajesh, saying that he failed to prevent the situation and put the party in a difficult position.
A section of party leaders has demanded that Rajesh be asked for an explanation as soon as he returns from Chandigarh. Srelekha's resignation letter was reportedly kept confidential by the mayor for three days.
Srelekha had also submitted a complaint to the BJP leadership against Rajesh. She alleged that she was sidelined even in the mayor's ward of Kodunganoor when she contested the Assembly election, and that development projects were not being sanctioned in the Sasthamangalam ward and she was not being given due consideration.
