BJP Mahila Morcha Leader Attempts Suicide; Levels Serious Allegations Against RSS Leaders

Thiruvananthapuram: Shalini Anil, the North District Secretary of the BJP Mahila Morcha, who attempted suicide after reportedly being denied a seat, raised serious allegations against RSS leaders. Shalini slit her wrist after she was denied the Nedumangad Municipality seat.

According to Shalini, RSS leaders engaged in widespread character assassination, which she could not bear. “They repeatedly humiliated me by making up things that never happened. They pushed me to a point where I couldn't even step out of my house. My family was dragged into it as well. Unable to withstand the character assassination, I was driven to this extreme step,” she said.

The BJP leadership had initially decided to field her as the candidate in Panangottayil ward of Nedumangad. However, “Some people wanted to ensure that even if I got the seat, I should not win,” she claimed. She had raised these concerns with the party leadership. Shalini also stated that the local RSS leadership opposed her candidature.
