BJP–BDJS Clash Escalates in Alappuzha as BDJS Announces Its Own Candidates

Alappuzha: A major clash has erupted between the BJP and BDJS in the Alappuzha South organizational district. Rejecting attempts to suppress them, the BDJS openly challenged the BJP and announced its own candidates.
The meeting held on Saturday between BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar and BDJS president and NDA convenor Thushar Vellappally — aimed at resolving the NDA crisis — ended without any progress.
The BDJS maintains that there is no need to bow before the BJP. Thushar conveyed his dissatisfaction directly to Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Discussions will resume again on the 20th at 2 PM at Hotel Travancore Palace.
The crisis intensified after the BJP unilaterally announced its candidate in the Nooranad division, which BDJS had demanded. The BDJS announced candidates for the district panchayat divisions of Nooranad, Krishnapuram, Veliyanad, Mulakkuzha, and Pallippad. Additionally, they declared candidates for divisions in Kunnummma, Naduvile Muri, Neendur, Manakkad, Kandalloor North, and Vettiyar block divisions; in municipalities—Kayamkulam wards 24 and 34, Mavelikkara ward 18, and Chengannur ward 21; and in panchayats—Pathiyoor ward 16, Veliyanad ward 6, and Pallippad ward 14.
