Thiruvananthapuram: CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam said that the “mask of a Nehruvian socialist” claimed by Chief Minister V D Satheesan is being exposed more clearly every day.

In a statement, Binoy Viswam questioned why the Chief Minister was reluctant to mention the financial discrimination faced by Kerala from the Central government either in the policy declaration or through a white paper. He stated that the Congress and the Muslim League-led UDF government was attempting to bring back the PM SHRI scheme in some form, despite the LDF government’s decision not to implement it.

He also criticized the new government’s enthusiasm in appointing advisers associated with the Sangh Parivar in key positions related to higher education and the legal sector. He called the move a “remarkable surprise.”

He further stated that the distance between a person who once stood before a portrait of Golwalkar with a lit lamp and folded hands and someone presenting himself as a Nehruvian socialist is far greater than what V D Satheesan himself might estimate.
