Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has acknowledged that the 2025 local body election results fell short of the Left Democratic Front’s (LDF) expectations. While the alliance had aimed for stronger gains across the state, it was unable to achieve the anticipated surge.

The Chief Minister said the reasons behind the outcome would be examined in detail, and necessary corrective measures would be taken moving forward. He noted that the NDA’s gains in the state capital and the influence of communal rhetoric during the campaign have raised concerns among those who believe in secularism.

'The election results serve as a warning to remain vigilant against divisive propaganda and manipulative tactics, ensuring that the public does not get swayed,' Vijayan said. He emphasised the need to intensify the fight against all forms of communalism.
