Qatar Prime Minister: Attack on Gulf Countries Must End Immediately

Doha: Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani called for an immediate end to the attacks in the Gulf region and for both parties to be ready to resolve the current conflict through diplomatic means.

In an interview with Sky News, he pointed out that the attacks targeting Gulf countries were a major betrayal, and this was the second incident to affect regional trust. He also alleged that the targeting of Gulf countries immediately after the outbreak of the conflict was a sign that the attacks had been planned in advance.

He stated that Qatar and other Gulf countries were attacked within an hour of the war starting. Sheikh Mohammed added that Gulf countries, including Qatar, would not participate in attacks on neighboring countries and had always wanted a peaceful regional environment. He emphasised that Gulf countries had helped both Iran and the United States reach diplomatic solutions, but Iran's attacks on Gulf countries had weakened those efforts. He mentioned that they were hopeful some diplomatic solutions could still be found for the current conflict. However, Iran's decision to attack the Gulf countries had ruined those efforts. Despite this setback, he reiterated that Qatar would continue to prioritize the safety of its citizens and the stability of daily life in the country.
