California: Layoffs Continue at Meta; Reports Indicate Termination Process Began on Wednesday. Reports suggest that layoffs at Meta began on Wednesday, primarily affecting teams in Reality Labs, social media, and recruitment departments. Reuters has reported that hundreds of employees are expected to lose their jobs. Unconfirmed sources suggest that around 700 employees may be laid off.

Authorities have stated that efforts will be made to help those losing their jobs find other opportunities within the company. As of last December, approximately 79,000 workers were employed at Meta. Earlier reports indicated that Meta was planning large-scale layoffs that could affect up to 20 percent of the company’s total workforce.

Meta's total spending is forecast to be between 162 billion dollar and 169 billion dollar by 2026. The company's financial burden has increased due to the high compensation required to attract top AI talent.
