Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that Iran will respond immediately to any threat directed at the country, its people, or its leadership. His remarks came in response to provocative comments made by Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz.
Araghchi issued the response through a post on X. “The US President is committed to controlling the pets in Tel Aviv. If they ignore their master, Iran will teach them a lesson,” he wrote.
Iran’s reaction followed a post by Katz that reportedly suggested Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, had been marked for death.
Katz had earlier stated that Iranian representatives are skilled negotiators who make compromises through talks, but insisted that Israel would not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons.
Meanwhile, technical discussions are continuing in Doha with the aim of ensuring smooth maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and securing a lasting ceasefire.
