Tehran: The Embassy of India in Tehran has advised Indian citizens in Iran not to attempt crossing the border without coordinating with the embassy. The embassy issued a new advisory on March 16.

The embassy’s advisory comes amid growing concerns in the Middle East as the United States–Israel alliance continues its attacks in Iran.

The Indian embassy stated that it is in regular contact with Indian nationals in Iran and is making the necessary arrangements for their safety. It also warned that Indian nationals who attempt to leave Iran through land borders without consulting the embassy may face significant difficulties. The embassy clarified that it may not be able to provide adequate assistance if such attempts are made.

Therefore, all Indian citizens in Iran have been advised to strictly follow the embassy’s instructions.

Meanwhile, the first batch of more than 70 Indian students who returned from Iran via Armenia has safely reached New Delhi.
