Beijing: China said that it will firmly oppose anyone who interferes in the internal affairs of other countries, regardless of the justification given. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has stated that the decision to appoint Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader is an internal matter of Iran, and the sovereignty of that country must be respected. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun clarified China's position at a press conference after the United States and Israel announced that they would not allow Mojtaba Khamenei to be in power.

Iran selected its Supreme Leader based on its constitution. There should be no outside pressure or interference in this process. China does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. Iran's sovereignty and integrity must be respected.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has called for an immediate end to military actions in the region and for negotiations and reconciliation to take place as soon as possible.
