Attacks on Minorities Continue in Bangladesh; Two Shot Dead in Separate Incidents

Dhaka: Attacks against minorities are continuing in Bangladesh. On Monday evening, a man was shot dead in a village in Jessore district. The victim has been identified as Rana Pratap (45), a factory owner and acting editor of a newspaper in Jashore district.
Eyewitnesses said that the man was shot by unidentified assailants. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and collapsed at the scene, dying instantly. Following the incident, tension prevails in the village.
Meanwhile, another man in the minority community in Bangladesh, Mani Chakraborty, was killed on Monday night at Charsindur Bazar in Narsingdi district. According to media reports, Chakraborty was attacked by unidentified assailants while running his shop at the busy market under Palash upazila.
Just a day earlier, Khokon Chandra Dasi (50), a shopkeeper, was brutally attacked and set on fire to death by unidentified persons.
So far, six fatal attacks on the community has been reported in a month following the unrest in Bangladesh.
