IFFK to Conclude Today; Awards, Honours at Closing Ceremony

Thiruvananthapuram: The week-long International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) will conclude today, with the closing ceremony of its 30th edition scheduled to be held this evening at Nishagandhi. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the concluding function.


Veteran filmmaker Saeed Mirza, who has completed 50 years in cinema and currently serves as the Chairperson of the K R Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts, will be honoured at the ceremony.


The Chief Minister will present the Lifetime Achievement Award to renowned Mauritanian filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako. Jury Chairperson Mohammad Rasoulof will also be honoured. Major awards, including the prestigious Suvarna Chakoram for Best Film, will be announced during the event.


Voting for the Audience Poll Award will be open until 2 pm today. On the final day of the festival, eleven films, including Inside the Wolf and Riverstone, are scheduled for screening.


The festival will officially conclude with the screening of the Suvarna Chakoram–winning film at Nishagandhi following the closing ceremony.
