The Kerala Ayush Kayakalp Award was introduced by the state government to encourage best practices in cleanliness, waste management, and infection control within Ayush healthcare facilities. The awards cover various categories under the Departments of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy, including District Hospitals, Sub-District Hospitals, and Ayush Health and Wellness Centres (AHWCs).

In the District Hospital category, the first prize carries a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh, while the second prize is Rs. 5 lakh. Commendation awards of Rs. 1.5 lakh each will also be given. In the Sub-District Hospital category, the first prize is Rs. 5 lakh, the second prize is Rs. 3 lakh, and commendation awards of Rs. 1 lakh each will be presented. For Ayush Health and Wellness Centres at the district level, the first prize is Rs. 1 lakh, while commendation awards of Rs. 30,000 each will also be awarded.

The institutions selected for these awards have undergone a rigorous, multi-stage evaluation process and were chosen from among Ayurveda and Homeopathy district hospitals, sub-district Ayush hospitals, and Health and Wellness Centres across Kerala.

This initiative reflects the Kerala government’s continued efforts to strengthen the Ayush sector, positioning the state as a model for the rest of the country in delivering high-quality traditional and integrative healthcare.
