Kochi: In a result few in the Malayalam film industry would have predicted, Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros has emerged as the biggest box office phenomenon in Kerala's cinema history. The film, headlined by digital creators Hashir, Alan, Vinayak and Ajin under debutant director Savin SA, crossed the ₹122-123 crore mark in its first 25 days, surpassing both Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra and Mohanlal's Thudarum to claim the all-time Keralam collection record.

The achievement is all the more extraordinary given its cast — a group of social media personalities with no conventional film industry pedigree. Their organic audience connect and powerful word-of-mouth promotion proved more potent than established star power, redefining what a box office draw looks like in present-day Kerala.

The film has also crossed 80 lakh admissions, a footfall milestone that puts it in the company of only two other Malayalam films since 2000 — Mohanlal's Narasimham and Pulimurugan.

On the worldwide chart, however, Vaazha 2 still has to overtake Thudarum, Manjummel Boys, L2: Empuraan and Lokah to climb to the top.
