Man Stabbed to Death in Palakkad Over Family Dispute

Palakkad: A 57- year -old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a youth at Olimkadavu in Palakkad district, police said on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Rajamani, a resident of Thalikakkally Unnathi near Mangalam Dam. The accused, Rahul, a native of Vellikulangara in Thrissur district, has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

According to Mangalam Dam police, the attack occurred around 8 pm on Thursday. Rahul, reportedly upset over Rajamani’s opposition to his relationship with the man’s daughter, allegedly went to the victim’s house, where an argument ensued. During the confrontation, Rahul is said to have stabbed Rajamani on the neck and chest.

Rajamani was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead. Rahul fled into a nearby forest after the attack but was later apprehended with the help of local residents, police added.

A case of murder has been registered against Rahul, and his arrest will be formally recorded. The body will be handed over to the family after the postmortem examination.
