Thiruvananthapuram: Senior CPI M leader and former MLA, A Pradeep Kumar, has been appointed as the new private secretary to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Saturday, CM Vijayan has officially appointed the former legislator to the key post. The decision comes in the wake of the recent appointment of K.K. Ragesh, the former private secretary, as the CPI M Kannur district secretary.
Pradeep Kumar, currently serving as a member of the CPIM state committee, represented the Kozhikode North constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly for three consecutive terms.
Reacting to the appointment, Kumar described it as a “significant responsibility.” “I have been away from parliamentary politics for some time and have been focusing on party work. This new responsibility is a continuation of that role,” he told reporters. He added that he would do his best to fulfill the entrusted duties with commitment.
Kumar began his political journey in the 1980s as an activist of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), the student wing of the CPI M.
